Eeny meeny miny mo.

Here is a page I finnished yesterday that I did using some dog themed DCWV papers that my dear friend Helen gave to me. My darling dog Tara gave birth to these cuties in 1988 one of which I kept, but they have all now gone to dog heaven and I was looking through some old photo's and just couldn't resist scrapping this one. They are all trying to get over the board at the same time because their mum had just left the room.
I have put the jounaling behind the photo with a tag to pull to retrieve it. Click on the layout to get a closer look at the little darlings - thanks for looking.

Quick card

I recentley purchased this Marther Stewart punch from Papermaze and thought I would make a card using it.
This was so quick and simple - punch out the butterfly's and glue just the body to the punched squares. When dry, bend the wings back to make them stand up a bit, then make up the card - simple yet effective.
The punches are usually available to use at the craft club so if you fancy making a card with butterflys bring some supplies next time. Thanks for looking.

Craft Club layouts and cards

This weeks club had a double challenge - this sketch from 52 sketches, 52weeks blog.

and this colour combination from color combos galore blog.

This one is mine and it was very last minute so was kept nice and simple.

This page belongs to Pam who has some great 3D bugs decorating the corners.

Sandy's page is showing us what stars her and Maggie are at their other hobbie - table tennis.

Joan is also showing us what fun they have with her other hobbie - holidaying.

Maggie worked hard on her title letters and it sure paid off - they certainly stand out.

This is the card sketch which was from Pagemaps.

This is Pam's christmas themed card.

This is Jaqui's card which has loads of texture.

Joan had a go at beading with this card, have a closer look at the dragonfly.

Scrapbook Inspirations

I've just found out that Scrapbook Inspirations magazine is no more! It's such a shame as I think it is the best scrapbook mag in the UK, especially if you are a novice as it had great tips in it every month. I was wondering why I couldn't find it in any of the shops this month and found out about it's demise from this blog http://mmwwaahh211.blogspot.com/.
Apparently they will be bringing out book like editions next year so we will have to wait for our inspirational fix - no more lunchtime flicking of new mag, I will have to make do with old editions till something else fills the spot.

Covers finished!

It only took 3 days of solid sewing! but I managed to give our old sofa a new lease of life ( well a face lift anyway).
This is what the sofa looked like before.....................

And this is after............... not bad for a first attempt at something this big, it is more red than it looks in the photo and it's in the girls den so I thought I would go for bright aand cheerful. I also made them some big floor cushions.
Now that's all done I can get back to the important stuff like crafting with paper instead of fabric!

Not much scrapp'in going on.

Hi all, just thought I would check in even though I have no layouts to display as I am in the process of trying to make loose covers for a settee!!! Anyway thought I would show you my purchase from Ikea... these lovely spice jars and racks for my buttons. My DH put them up for me at the weekend on the side of my craft drawers, as I was getting fed up with my buttons being in different packets and the colours all mixed up. So now I'm all colour co-ordinated and ready to scrap ( well when the covers are done).

I also wanted to show you these adorable stickers I picked up for £1 !! in Paperchase in Colchester. They had quite a few designs and I thought they were a very good price as they are padded and the cupcake ones have glitter on them. ( click on the images to get a closer look).

Here are some close up's of two of the packets ( the owl one wasn't very clear).

Can't wait to use these little gems, perhaps if you get any let me see what you did with them, leave a comment with a link.

Septembers mini kit.

Here are some late submissions for the mini kit.

This one belongs to Linda.

This one belongs to Jaqui.

This one belongs to Jackie.

Bradfield Craft Club had a trip out to Whoops-a-Daisy in July and we all loved this owl paper and decided to use it in a mini kit. I sourced some ribbons and buttons from Colchester fabric shops and the owl on a log and the journaling circle was from the course I did in the summer.

This page is Joans and I like the zig-zag yellow paper behind the photo and the outlines on the word Joe.

Pam has done some pretty embossing on the yellow card at the bottom and I like the way she cut the middle from the journalling circle.

My page has some themed photo's and I added my buttons to the circles on the tree for a 3D effect.

Have a look at Sandy's hand cut owl! It has the ric rac and button eyes for extra dimension and a bird themed photo aswell.

I love how Maggie has used the ric rac above her photo's and then again to lead the eye to the die cut owl in the journalling circle.

Did you notice the lack of journalling or the minimum amount in these layouts !!!!! I think I will have to address this in a future challenge, so watch out ladies!
