Cupcakes and Crafting.

I spent another wonderful few hours at my friend Helen's home today and as usual we chatted, crafted and ate cake!! Not one cake but four different types (banana and chocolate muffins, banana and walnut loaf, plum loaf and strawberry loaf) I think we can safely say we had our fair share of home baked goodness.
Anyway our usual challenge to each other this time around was to scrap photo/'s of ourselves from our childhood which is something I haven't done more than a couple of times in all the years I have been scrapbooking!

Here is my page of little ole me when I was about two, in a London park with two of my aunts. To give it an older and girly feel I have used some gorgeous Fancy Pants papers, cutting the flower images from one of the sheets.

Here is a close up of the butterflies, I used some Stickles glue to add a bit of sparkle.

Helen's page has even more paper cutting than mine, the background was cut out using her Cricut but the flowers were all hand cut from a piece of patterned paper (that's dedication for you!).

And a close up of all that hard work and patience.

For our next challenge we have decided to use the colours orange and blue, not a combination that immediately springs to mind but we were looking at a page from an old copy of Creating Keepsakes mag and they showcased some embelishments that used these colours and they looked realy nice. We decided it was ideal challenge material and saved us having to try to come up with something else (we needed all the time we had for eating cake) so I will post the results of the challenge when Helen and I next meet up.
