Seeing Double? Not Quite.

I had to make a card for a friend yesterday and as per usual I try to make two cards and put one in my box of emergency cards.

So here is the card I made to start with, lots of strips of coloured Bazzil and her name cut out using my wonderful new dies from Papertrey. I added some flowers that I have had for like EVER! I am really trying to use up the old stash.

And here is the other card I made using the same principle but with a sentiment cut out.

Here you can see where I used foam padding on the main background and then on the wishes letters to give them a lift as well. I kept it simple with a single flower as there was enough busyness going on with the coloured strips and letters. Oh and I embossed a couple of lines above and below the sentiment just to finish of the blank space without any distractions.

I have a busy weekend ahead so I might not be around for a couple of days but promise to return at some point in the near future with a card and page.
Love having you visit my little blog.

It's all Transparent Now!

I love a good challenge and Shimelle has certainly set one that I have loved doing. Along with her Sketch Of The Week she has challenged us to use a transparency!! Well, when was the last time you used one of those??
So armed with an ancient transparency I gave it a go and although in the beginning I was a bit dubious about the outcome in the end I enjoyed making the page and used up some old stash!!

Now if you click on the image of my page you will probably notice the photo is a blur of movement and whilst we like to have those perfect shots I actually loved this photo as it portrays how my youngest daughter likes to run about in the woods exploring and climbing.
The papers are all Scenic Route and the ancient transparency is Papermania.

And just a few close ups because I like to see the little details on layouts I find in blogland so I thought you might like it too.
Ok there are still a few days left if you want to have a go at Shimelle's challenge, you can find all the details HERE on her blog.
I have some cards to make next so back soon.

Not Girly Girls.

Happy Tuesday, the sun has at last been shining most of the day (jinx) and we have at last got my eldest daughter her prom dress!!!
So to top of the day I have a page to show you that I am really pleased with and the photo has been a favourite of mine that I just needed the inspiration for the right papers etc.

The photo in question is of my youngest daughter and her cousin after a walk in the woods, mud all over their clothes and boots but they both had a wonderful time playing together in the dirt and water.

I had a go at doodling my title letters after seeing some chipboard letters by American Crafts in this style. Will definitely be doing them again as I can co-ordinate them with any page colour.

A couple more close up's of the embellishment clusters.

Hope your day has been lovely too and as always thanks for stopping by.

Cards for Parents.

With it being Fathers Day today and my mum's birthday yesterday I can now show you the cards I made for them.

Firstly the card for my mum the centre of which was made with a rub-on.

Lastly my dad's Fathers Day card, the sentiment was made in Microsoft Publisher, printed out and coloured in with my Promarkers.

Please excuse the shadows on the photo's, I took them outside and didn't notice the tree was casting shadows on the cards.
Hope you had a great weekend and thanks for dropping in on me.

Sarah's Cards Challenge.

I'm back again with a page for the sketch challenge over at Sarah's Cards.

Here is the sketch for June and I decided to turn it on it's side as I had a landscape photo.

My layout shows gorgeous Billy on a walk with us in our local woods. The title was inspired by Billy's really long tongue hanging out as he ran around, he has the longest tongue of any dog I know.

The patterned paper is Pebbles Cats and Dogs and the trees and banners are by Erin Bradley.

And just a close up of the top corner.

I am going to have a go at Shimelle's challenge for this week, which is to use a transparency!! Something I haven't used in years and is another of those items of stash that I really should 'use it or lose it', but I know I'm not the only one guilty of stash stashing!

Pages, (plural) !!!!!

At last, I have found the time to post the projects I made at our recent all day crop. We had a wonderful relaxing day of crafting with the odd cake or two thrown in for sustenance.

This page shows a cake I made for my youngest daughter for her eleventh birthday.
I had remembered to take my sewing machine so I put a little stitched detail on the heart border.

This page was super quick but was my favourite of the three I finished.

I had started this page before the crop so it was just a case of adding the title and some finishing touches.
A close up of the embellishment cluster.

Lastly a card that I made two of as I had a couple of men's birthdays this week.

I am working on a layout to enter into Sarah's Cards sketch challenge, so hopefully I will get the time to finish it this weekend.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by.

Monster Birthday!

Hello, I have a card to show you today that I've just finished ready to pop in the post in the morning.
As I knew I had to get it done before Thursday I thought I would design it around the sketch #15 at Retro Sketches .
Here is my jolly monster card, don't you just love his smile!

A close up of Mr Jolly, I even did some layering!!!

The  sentiment was personalised as I thought that the boy who is to receive the card might get a kick out of having his name on the front.

Here is the sketch that I used as my starting point, I turned it on it's side and used a tag instead of the frame. The bow was replaced by some ribbon tied through the tag.

I have some more projects to show you but the next few days are a bit hectic so it may be a couple of days before I'm back.

Ninja Stars!

I have a double page to show you today, I have slowly been trying to get through the pile of photo's that need a double spread but as I prefer to scrap single pages it's taking a while. (perhaps I should alternate between single and double then it might not seem so bad)!

click image for a better view
The title says it all I suppose, my girls had made paper trowing stars and took them outside (mum wouldn't let them trow them indoors as they were surprisingly heavy). I just happen to be free to take some photo's of them having fun in the street seeing how far their stars would go.

Here is a close up of the tag embellishment that is down the bottom of the first page.

I will be back soon with some projects I got finished at our recent all day crop.
Thanks for popping in.

Friendly Challenge.

Last Friday was a wonderful day at my friend Helen's, we did the usual crafting, chatting and eating but also compared the results of the challenge that we set ourselves, which was to scrap a wedding page.

I had to do a double page as I had photo's of a wedding we went to in Jersey in 2002!

I used some glitter card for my title and for the hearts that are in the middle of the flowers.

Helen's page is of her parents wedding day and I loved the colour combo she used.

Check out the heart embellishment she made using her Cricut then topped with butterflies and tiny hearts.

I am always so jealous when Helen does a title with her Cricut, look how fab this one is.

I can't tell you what our next challenge to each other is as we forgot to set one before I left and I am having trouble thinking of a good one.
 Any ideas?

Sketch Challenge.

The challenge I gave out a couple of weeks ago at Bradfield Craft Club was a sketch designed by little ole me, hexagons seem to be the 'in' shape in the crafting world at the moment so I thought I would add them to my sketch.

As usual I try to keep my sketches simple as it allows for individual scrapbooking style to have a say in the overall design.

This is my page, it ended up as a mirror image of the sketch and I used squares as the paper I used was all squares that I cut out.

Joan stayed true to the sketch.

Pam has adapted my sketch to suite her style but you can see the elements of the sketch are all there.

I will be back soon with pages from the challenge Helen and I had set each other.
Hope you have a great Jubilee weekend.
