Creative Life.

My favorite layout from my scrapbook weekend was one I created with a photo of us girls from our last crop in May and I had found the perfect quote to accompany it.
I am entering it into the Scrap365 sketch challenge which is open until 10th August.
Here is the sketch.
Here is my layout.
I had two copies of the photo because I knew I wanted to cut one out and place into a Polaroid frame on top of the other. I had been given these glitter Thickers and they had the perfect look I was after to add a punch to the title.
This flower was cut from the Polka Dot Party - Flourishing Flowers paper and it is one of my favourite sheets this year.
Here is the title that I used and I thought it sums up a few of us girls at my crop weekends as we will put up with camping out in the hall in order to get extra hours of craft time!
The top corner of the page- the first time I have added a cotton swirl to my page but I love it!

I hope this weekend will be crafty for you, I will be back on 1st Aug with a double page to share with you.
Hugs,
Kerry. xx

Summer Lovin.

I have a very quick double page to share with you today that I am also sharing with Orange Paperie who has a double page challenge happening at the moment that runs for another six days.
I had soooo many photo's that there wasn't much room for much embellishment. We had hired two pedalo's that had slides on them and the kids were in their element splashing into the Med!

My title was cut on the Silhouette and the cute sun is a really old Sizzix die.
Some summer quotes stamps were used to make some banners.
Well that was quick!
But I will be back tomorrow with another page that I created and last weekends crop.
Until then thanks for stopping by. xx

Bottoms Up.

Another beautiful day here is sunny England and I have a busy day ahead but first I wanted to share a page I created over the weekend for the current challenge over at Scrap The Girls which is to use paint and texture paste on a layout.
These two enjoyed having their photo taken whilst downing shots on holiday! They were non alcoholic but don't let on to their friends!!!
I made a triangle mask recently and decided to use this and my home-made texture paste as a background down the right hand side. Then I used gold mist on a paint brush to flick and drip around my page. A friend lent me her paint dabber to make the paint splats I have dotted around - (seriously good fun and now on my shopping list!).
These gorgeous butterflies that I fussy cut were the perfect colour for the photo's and I don't know if you can see from this photo but they have a gold shimmer on them too. Thanks mum for the donation. xx
I was playing around with my Silhouette this weekend and made a paper doll chain, I cut a couple of the girls out of the chain and re-coloured them to match my page.
The challenge over at Scrap The Girls is open for a couple more days so there is still time to play along if you manage to get some scrappy time in!
Check out the details on the STG blog HERE.
Thanks for looking. xx

Poser!

Hello crafty friends, it's been a tad quiet around here as I have been away on a scrappy weekend but that means I got lots of layouts completed for some of the awesome challenges this month.
Firstly Stuck Sketches teamed up with Studio Challenges to combine a sketch with a colour challenge!
Here is the sketch provided by Stuck!
Here is the super colour challenge from Studio!
And here is the layout I created using the sketch (turned to accommodate my photo's) and the fun colour palette. I had great fun with this challenge as I had some new crazy photo's of my eldest messing about at college and I let loose with the mists and doodling.

A couple of close ups of the doodled butterflies and the mists and splats.
I played with my Silhouette to produce these scribble effect circles that I have seen around scrapland recently.
There are only a few hours left to play along with Stuck but a few days left to link a page to the Studio challenge.
Here are the links to the challenges-
Thanks so much for popping in to see me and I hope your weekend was productive too. I will be back tomorrow with another layout to share. xx

Rugged Beauty.

It's time for the mid month sketch reveal at Sketch N Scrap and you are going to love it!
How fun is this? Kelly has provided us with plenty of design elements to sink our teeth into!
The design of my page is more or less to the sketch, even the stars went with the photo's I chose.
After spending plenty of time hand stitching the circles I then proceeded to cover most of them with the photo's and papers! Next time I will do the stitching after everything has been added I think!
We found this view in Ibiza by accident as we had missed our turning for the beach we were headed to. But we spent a good few minutes wandering the cliff top looking out at the scene below!
I had to move my title down in order to fit in on and placed part on the photo and the rest on a tag tucked below.
I ran some embossed lines through my stars and folded them so that they would be more 3D. You need quite nibble fingers for this!!!

Now you have seen the sketch (and love it of course!) why not head on over to the Sketch-N-Scrap blog to play along with us! The rest of the DT would love for you to see their takes on the sketch too.

Thanks for stopping by today. xx

Ice Cream Pit Stop.

I have a page to share with you that I created for Sketch N Scrap using our first ever Inspired By sketch that was inspired by one of our talented participants!
And here is the sketch based on Leah's wonderful layout:
And here is the sketch based on Leah's wonderful layout.
And here is my interpretation of the sketch. As you can see I have added an extra photo as the two have a little story together.
We were killing time before we were due to be at the airport to fly home from Ibiza and we had decided to climb some of the way up into the old part of Ibiza Town. Before we could reach our destination the girls (and me!) were hot and tired and didn't want to carry on, but just as we had that thought there on the corner stood an ice cream shop! Hubby treated everyone to an ice lolly and we couldn't believe how much a humble frozen desert can revive an overheated body! We made it to the top and gazed down on this awesome yacht, with it's heli pad and sun deck. When we got home we looked up who it belong to and found it was a Saudi Prince's yacht! How the other half live!
A couple of little close up's just for fun!
I am really enjoying bunting (banners) at the moment and I have to stop myself from adding them on every page I design! But they always seem to add a little quirkiness and fun that you can't beat, so glad that they were on the sketch!

As always there is plenty of inspiration from the rest of the DT and our 'Inspired By' designer Leah has also done another layout based on the sketch so you can see them both too.

Bye for now. xx

Use It Or Lose It Part 2.

Last week I made a layout using some of not only old papers but scraps of old papers.(You can find it here) I was pleased that I had cleared out a tiny portion of my stash that was forever being overlooked in favor of new and more exciting papers. So I thought I would keep the ball rolling and make another use it or lose layout!
I also got inspiration from 123 Challenge Blog this month.

This is the selection I picked out - the last of some more masculine Scenic Route.
And the page I made - featuring my hubby (for a change!) and some friends of his out for a farewell pub crawl as one of their group was emigrating to Australia.
Although I prefer to scrap with white backgrounds these days I decided to be good and use up some of the dotty Bazzil I have had hanging around for an age. A bit bright I know but I quite like the contrast!
I stitched some fun arrows to emphasize the 'down under' part of the title!
The stars from one of the papers were fussy cut to make my embellishments.
I didn't quite have enough left to make a card this time (plus I ran out of steam!) so the last of the scraps went to the great paper bin in the sky! Ok, they went into recycling!
How are you getting on with your stash busting? I know we all need to purge ourselves of the old to make room for the new because I don't know about you but my craft space is not getting any bigger but the stash keeps a comin'! Although to be fair I haven't bought anything new this month!!!!!!

Lovely to see you again and I will be back on the 10th with an 'Inspired By' layout.
Until then enjoy your day. xx

Super Salad.

We are so excited at Challenge YOUrself as it's the new reveal for July and this time we have a colour challenge for you to play with.
Don't forget that the challenge requires that YOU be in the photo/s because we need to be in the limelight sometimes!
Some beautiful colours in challenge #8 that will get you thinking of summer days.
This is my layout using the colour challenge.
As you can probably guess from the title of 'Super Salad' I had ordered what I thought was going to be a run of the mill salad but it came out as a work of art and I just had to have a photo of it!
I am sorry for the totally 'orange' me in the photo it was right at the end of a fortnight at the beach and I tried to lighten the photo but it didn't seem to help!!
This is the first time I have made a banner using washi tape but I love how easy it was and will definately be trying it again some time.
A little embellishment cluster in the corner of the photo using all the colours in the challenge.
I hope you will check out the Challenge YOUrself blog and see the rest of the DT's layouts, such wonderful inspiration for the next page featuring YOU!
This challenge is open until August 4th.

Thanks for stopping by. xx

Use it or Lose It!

I was flicking through a box of my papers yesterday and came across lots of leftover pieces that I had tucked back in the box (I store my papers by manufacturer), every time I finish a page all the half (or less) sheets left of the line that I used I keep to use again. But I decided I have become a paper hoarder!  So I am on a mission to either use all these leftovers or lose them to the bin!
As I was in the 3 Bugs box when the idea struck I rummaged around and came across these pretty pieces that went together...
The A side.
The B side.
Here is my quick and easy page, quick because I didn't spend any time looking for the perfect papers and easy because I decided to play along with The Studio Challenges 'triangle' challenge. Therefore I cut out lots of triangles placed them where I liked the look and boom, a page  almost done!
As I only wanted a small part of the second photo I decided a pretty Heidi Swapp glitter frame would make a feature out of it.
And the fussy cut flowers with added glitter glue to match the frame. Slight cheat here with the die cut leaves - the paper was not in the original pile BUT it was cut from another piece of scrap!
I even had enough paper left over to make a super quick card!
With a clear conscience I can now throw away scraps!
I wonder if you have some leftover hoarder paper?????
Come on use up those old pieces and make room for some more (no I must not buy any new papers!).
There is just a couple of days left to play along with the Studio Challenges click HERE to check it out.

Thanks for stopping by and hopefully I will play again soon. xx

Easy Livin'.

Well summer is well and truly here in the UK, blue skies and sunshine in abundance.
This is the perfect weather to share another holiday page with you that I created for the Sketch N Scrap layout challenge #60 which is revealed today.
Here is Lisa's sketch and a great one for using those multiple photo's.
This is the page I created, slightly different format to some of the photo's on the sketch and thought it was about time I added butterflies on a page.
Still plowing through the holiday photo's from last year, I really need to get cracking on them as I go on this years holiday in a few weeks!! But you will see totally different images as we are visiting the Alps!
The papers I used were from Lily Bee Pinwheel collection and these flowers were cut from some American Crafts paper.
My usual doodling around the papers and a close up of the cluster above the photo.
