Snap Happy

The current challenge over at Challenge YOUrself is Anything Goes!
I liked that I could use some of an older Like Forever kit that went so well with my photos and there are no restrictions on colour or the theme.

As the point of Challenge YOURself is to have YOU in the photo/s here I am taking photo's on a mountain top in France (summer of 2014). The papers in the kit I used were perfect for my photo's and the glitter thickers have captured my heart!

This is probably the perfect title for photo's of any scrapbooker, we are always happy to take photo's but rarely feature in them!

Lots of beautiful ephemera in the kit.

Some fussy cutting of the flowers on one of the sheets of patterned paper.

If you have some photo's of YOU why don't you scrap and share them with pride at Challenge YOURself.
The challenge runs until February 4th and you can find all the details on their blog HERE.

Fashion Faux Pax and a DT CAll.

The Studio Challenges has three challenges this month and today is the reveal of the second one - patterned paper background.

I had been hoarding this pretty butterfly paper not wanting to cut into it, so when the patterned paper background challenge was decided I thought it was the perfect opportunity to not cut into it but use it as a complete sheet for a layout.
The photo shows my middle daughter wearing some stripey tights that went with a witch dress-up outfit but she had paired them with a girly skirt and top that in no way went together! She thought it was funny though and even let me snap a photo!

I made a photo mat using more paper from the same range and some vellum. I also hand stitched around the mat to help separate it from the background and add some texture. I created the title with my Silhouette.

The felt hearts were die-cut with my Bigshot and the bows were made using a template.

I really hope you find time to play along with us at The Studio Challenges with this background challenge. All the details can be found on the blog HERE.

Also The Studio Challenges has a DT call out at the moment here are the details..

Today was a Good Day.

I have been managing to sneak some scrapbooking in this month and as there are plenty of great challenge blogs, inspiration has been plentiful.
Today I am sharing a page I created with the challenge over at Scrap The Girls. It is a free for all but still has to be for the girls only. There is also a sketch option for the sketch fans but I had way too many photo's to use so I went with the easy option!

Here is my submission for this month's challenge and my design was based on shuffling the photo's around until I was happy with the layout!

Using the Twenty Sixteen kit from Like Forever I added some of the wonderful ephemera and washi tape strips for my embellishing.

Part of my title was cut on the Silhouette and the rest was letter stickers.

More ephemera in the top corner.

There is plenty of beautiful scrappy yumminess to check out from the Scrap The Girls DT so why not head on over to the blog HERE and play along too!

Thanks for stopping by Today.

She Believed....

Hi fellow scrappy addicts!
Another page to share with you today and I am entering this layout into Lasting Memories first challenge of 2016
Lasting Memories - New Beginnings and anything goes.

The new beginnings theme was perfect for this photo of my eldest daughter passing her driving test and with no faults! The papers, from Pink Paislee's Cedar Lane, were just the right mix for the photo's colours.

It wouldn't be right to not fussy cut the beautiful flower paper!

I loved the ephemera pack in this Like Forever Kit with pretty die cuts and wooden butterflies.

There was sticker sheet in the kit and I found this 'new beginnings' one that I just had to add because we all know that having a drivers licence is a very big new beginning!

I have always loved this quote and couldn't wait to find a layout to use it on!

Thanks again for popping in on me and if you would like to play along with the Lasting Memories challenge too here is the link to their blog - HERE.

Selfie Soulmates.

Today I am sharing another layout with you and this time it is for the first ever challenge over at More Than Words Challenge blog.
The challenge is to create a layout (or canvas, journal etc.) with the prompt 'Personality & Selfie'.

Here is my layout starring my eldest daughter (on the left) and her friend. Luckily for each other they both love taking selfie's and that's where the idea for the personality part of the challenge came from.
I'm lucky that my daughter doesn't mind me having the selfie's from her phone so I get to scrap the gorgeous photo's!

The alterable thickers were coloured using my Heidi Swapp Shine mist (navy) and I fussy cut the little bow from one of the papers in in this month's Like Forever Kit. (Studio Calico - Goldie)

The wonky striped paper in the kit made for an unusual pattern on the rosette, and I like it!

This cute brush heart was also fussy cut and added with a couple of items from the ephemera pack.

Thanks for stopping by and if you would like to play along with this More Than Words Challenge you can find all the details HERE on their blog.

Happy Together.

Two posts in as many days!
I have been enjoying my scrapping lately and my mojo has stuck around for a change!
Sketch N Scrap have a super cute sketch challenge at the moment and I took the opportunity to play along.

Here is the sketch designed by the talented Lisa Hidy.

Here is my take on the sketch and as you can see I started with the basic design and then went off track a bit but that's what happens when you have elements you want to use that don't quite fit the sketch design. But hopefully you can see some of the sketch in my layout somewhere!

I LOVE clusters of embellishments and although it is still work in progress I am getting better at adding different elements into a cohesive group!

The layout was created using the latest Like Forever Kit and when I received it it was wrapped in the gorgeous blue tissue paper. Waste not I thought and backed this 'Happy' title cut with it to make the word stand out a little more.

I must dash as I have washing waiting to go on the line (it's actually not raining here for a change!). But if you fancy playing along with Sketch N Scraps challenge just head on over to their blog HERE for all the details and the design team inspiration.

Friendly Challenge - Cats.

Hello my scraptastic friends, I have the latest Friendly Challenge to share with you today.
If you are a regular visitor to my humble blog you will know that my dearest friend Helen and I set a scrappy challenge about once a month and this month I set the challenge to use this set of wooden cats by Studio Calico.

Here is my take on the challenge and I have been waiting patiently for this challenge to come up as I had the idea of what I was going to do as soon as I bought the packs of cats!

I few bits of ephemera from one of my Like Forever Kits and the gorgeous 'I Love You' washi just had to feature some where!

I only coloured the larger wooden cat orange as I couldn't quite get the shade I wanted to match Gingers fur. but I did colour all the stars yellow.

One last look at the embellishment circle.

Two great minds think alike - Helen also has a stitched circle effect on her layout. Her photo shows five of her cats asleep on one of her daughters beds!

I just love not only the nursery rhyme title but that she has made it from Dymo tape!
How great doe's this look?

As Helen has multiple coloured cats in her photo she was able to colour her wooden cats a variety of shades.
I love that this wood embellishment pack has several poses and types of cat in the set. Helen has shown a variety here and aren't they just adorable!

I absolutely love how Helen has some cats walking around her stitched circle together!

There we are, a couple of layouts featuring cats, cats and more cats! Hope you enjoyed seeing our challenge today and I hope to be back with our next challenge soon, which is using this Fiskars hexagon stitching template.
Thanks for stopping by.

Sunday 3 January 2016

Hello 2016!

I've missed you all over the festive period!
As I craft in my dining area my stash had to be put away to make room for the Christmas tree and so in order to do any scrapbooking I  would have to rummage around upstairs to find what I needed from my hastily rehoused boxes!
Luckily for me I had my new kit from Like Forever kit club still in it's box and easily accessible so I was able to grab it and create a page for The Studio Challenges first reveal of 2016!

Hope and Dreams for 2016 is the theme this time!

The last couple of month's of 2015 were very stressful for me and lots of things were happening that are also affecting the New Year. So for my layout I chose to scrap a photo of our new calendar to denote the coming year and hidden behind the photo is my journaling about what I hope the new year will bring.

I put this 'Just Believe' among the cluster in the bottom corner to add a positive note the theme!

These alterable thickers were coloured with Heidi Swapp Colour Shine mist in Navy and added to a PL card that already had 'Hello' on it.

I had a ViewMaster reel already cut out and backed it with the tissue paper that came with this kit.
I only added a couple of items from the ephemera pack as I am trying not to overload my layout in the way I normally do!

I really hope you can join in with us at The Studio Challenges and for more inspiration why not pop over to the blog to see the DT's and our guest designers beautiful takes on their Hopes and Dreams for 2016.

Thanks for stopping by today.
