Hero's at The Studio Challenges.

Today's challenge reveal at The Studio Challenges is to create a layout featuring your Hero/s or the hero of a family member.

I knew I had to scrap this photo of the two hero's in my life my husband and my father. They were enjoying a silly moment together on Christmas Day. Unfortunately my father passed away suddenly last month so scrapping this photo meant a lot to me.

I played around with the quote 'a dog is for life not just for Christmas' and rewrote it to fit in with this photo and the challenge.

I used part of a star cut file that I had designed and backed a random few with patterned papers.

As the stars added a lot of interest around the background I decided to keep the embellishing to just the bottom corner of the photo.

I hope you can join in with our challenges this month. The Studio Challenges have this Hero's challenge and a sketch challenge that are both open until 13th March. Plenty of time to get your page linked up.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Friendly Challenge - Stitching Template.

I belong to a kit club (Like Forever) and there is a lot of page stitching going on lately to inspire. So when my dear friend Helen found a stitching template and asked if I would like to use it on a challenge I jumped at the chance!
The template is concentric hexagons, which is a shape that never fails to look great on a scrapbook page!

Here is the page I created for this challenge and features three year old me and my brother dancing with one of my aunts. As I was using papers from my LFE Smitten kit I chose threads that complimented the papers.

I tried to think outside the box when it came to the design of my stitched hexagons and although the sweep of them across the page is not so inspiring I created patterns inside them with each colour having it's own pattern.

In a couple of the larger ones I added some chipboard gold hearts.

Finally a little cluster under the photo incorporating my title.

Now to Helen's dramatic page of her and her partner at a Casino Night held in January.
The black red and pinks really make for a eye catching layout and with the addition of hearts creates a LOVEly page!

Helen has used the concentric pattern of the template to her advantage and created a frame for her title from several different coloured threads.

Helen's glitter heat embossed embellishments add a beautiful touch of sparkle that the photo just can't do justice!

Ok, that's our challenge for February shared with you and the next one will be a Tic Tac Toe designed by yours truly!
Hope you were inspired by us to stitch on your page, it really does look wonderful and adds soft texture!

For those of you living in the UK I have sourced the template on Ebay HERE in case you wanted a closer look.

Thanks for stopping by today and wish you a crafty weekend.

Christmas Layouts.

Hi scrappy peeps!
I am rushing around today flitting from one job to another and not really achieving much!
But as I was on the computer (checking my overdue library charges!) I thought I would share a few Christmas layouts I finished last week.

They were all created using the 'Wish List' kit from Like Forever Kit Club.

Christmas Day pics 2014.

Our new Christmas tree for 2015.

Our gorgeous boy as calm as can be!

Sorry it's such a flying visit!
Thanks for looking in on me.

London 1967.

Big Hello to you all and sorry I have been MIA lately, I hope to get back in the saddle again with my blog and scrapbooking!
I did have a weekend crop this week and after a slow start I managed to get back into the swing of scraping and had a relaxing time with my crafty friends.

I have the new reveal at The Studio Challenges to share with you today and I was humbled when Anna decided to make a sketch based on my Hopes and Dreams layout from January's challenge (check it out Here)

Here is the sketch and there is also an added challenge for Valentines Day to add at least one heart to your page.

I decided to change it from my original layout by turning it and adding some colour!!!!
The scruff bag in the photo is me many moons ago in my nanny's yard in London.

The page was made using the current Like Forever kit which included these great gold Thickers!

I added some ink splats around the page.

The beautiful flower paper in the kit is perfect for fussy cutting!

We hope you can play along with us and you should really check out the Studio Challenges blog as the new DT members have their first pages up with this challenge. Lots of beautiful pages to spark your mojo!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope to be back real soon!

XOXO

I'm a tad late posting my DT layout for The Studio Challenges, but hey, better late than never!
This weeks challenge is TEXTURE!
We would love to see your textured up pages, so why not play along!
Here is my take on the challenge.

I started with my background idea of using white on white, the shadows creating a textured look.
I simply punched lots of squares, cut them in half and then adhered them in rows filling the whole 12x12 background.

Although this wooden XOXO is texture by itself, I thought it would look quite effective with glitter on it too!

I also added glitter on the heart tag in the corner of the photo.

Of course you can't have texture without stitching so I created random lines of coloured stitching adding a paper heart to some of them.

Please head on over to The Studio Challenges Blog HERE to see the other designers pages and be inspired to play along with us.

Thanks for dropping by
